Transtar's seats were like, how nice lah!!! Reclining seats which don't bother the person behind you, with a personal entertainment thingy. I think they call it an ergonometric something... Anyways, the only thing that spoilt the perfect bus ride to KL was the bus driver. When we reached Puduraya, he said, "Last Stop!" Considering the our grogginess and the fact that what we saw outside the window did not look like an actual bus terminal, we thought, "Ah, another stopover... Continue sleeping..." But oh no, it was the end of the trip, and the bus driver started shouting at us when he realized we were, well, still sleeping. Eeee.

We paid RM25.00 to get to KL Sentral bus station (yes, I know, we got ripped off), and then took the RM10.00 bus to KLIA, only to discover, that we were at the wrong airport! AirAsia apparently has it's own mini-airport (or as they call it, terminal) about 20 minutes++ away, called KLIA-LCCT. So, we had to catch another bus to get to the right terminal.

Fast-forward to Vientiane. It is the least capital-like capital I've ever seen. Think something between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. I was expecting the kind of touting that one would get from Bangkok, or the bustling mess in Kuala Lumpur, but NOOOOOOOOOO, it was peaceful, polite, civil and all things good that a sleepyhead would desire after 12 hours of traveling and disturbed sleep.

Another thing. I would be the last person anyone who knows me would expect to suggest walking to the market. My brother can testify that I don't even like walking to the mama shop downstairs. But hey, I just got into the internet cafe after spending the last 3 hours or so walking. The market is easily about 1km from our guesthouse (I think), but I pretty much enjoyed the walk. Not as much pollution as one might expect from a capital city, and people were nice, not bumping into you and then grumbling. And of course, soaking in the new sights, sounds and smells.

So tomorrow, we're going trekking around vientiane. Hopefully, I'll be able to take more photos, and to find a way to upload them. Genius here completely forgot about the memory card reader. And after having more than one meal in Laos, I'll be better able to talk about food then.

But so far, from what I've seen and tasted, it looks like I'm going to be able to satisfy my tastebuds and tummy!
